I am Allison, Rhod/Mfanwy's girlfriend. Rhod and I have been best friends for years. For years, he was like a brother to me, but then we began to get real close and instead of just being best friends, we found that we loved each other.
We have talked to our parents and have agreed to stay as friends because our feelings could change in time, but even if they do, he will always be my brother and his Mum Sylvie will always be my crazy Auntie, but I will always call her Sylvie like the other kids do.
She is a modern Wild Child Hippie, she love to dress in the jeans and tops from back in the '70's and her shop is a mixture of modern and antique equipment and the decor is very bright and cheery. She is the most popular beautician in Warsop with every age group.
But it was not always easy for her. When she became pregnant with Rhod, his dad left her and moved to Wales, leaving Sylvie to raise Rhod on her own. She had just graduated from school and needed a job and place to stay when Ginnie stepped in to
help.
Ginnie was the owner/operator of Ginnie's Chalet and needed help with her growing business. She let Sylvie move in with her and helped her to apply for her permit. Sylvie had been doing her friends hair for years and already knew her craft, thanks to Ginnie, she learned her tricks and how to run her own business.
Ginnie adopted Sylvia and Rhod. She treated Sylvie like a daughter and when Rhod was born, she became his Granny Ginnie. Rhod had a lot of fun playing with Ginnie, but she died when he was a toddler, leaving them alone in the world.
Ginnie had made Sylvie and Rhod her partners and heirs because she had no children and wanted to pass on her shop to Sylvie. Sylvie was able to keep up with the workload and not have to rely upon the Church or any Charities.
She and Rhod might not have had the best stuff, but what they had worked because Sylvie learned how to tinker with stuff and make repairs.She would take any courses in home repair when she could and ordered the Time Life books on the subject. She always repaired anything that broke.
Sylvie had thought that she was going to raise Rhod all alone until he was ten, then his dad showed up wanting to claim his son. He had married a woman that because she had had a hysterectomy, couldn't have any kids, so they wanted Rhod.
Sylvie couldn't afford to fight for custody of Rhod, so she dressed him as a girl and named her Mfanwy. Rhod didn't want to do it, but he did so that he could stay with his Mum. Unfortunately for Rhod, Cherie fell in love with Em and decided that she wanted her as her daughter.
From then on, once a month Rhod becomes Em and heads off to Wales to visit his dad and step-Mum. Cherie has taken Em under her wing and taught her all about how to be a proper young lady in all things. Em has learned all about deportment and class and domestic skills too. Em has really excelled at this, but what will happen when they learn the truth about Em?
I don't guess that it really matters since Rhod has decided to become a girl. I have gone with him to Wales a few times and while there, all that I ever saw was Em. It was then that I knew that in time, Rhod would become Em for good.
I love Rhod and want for him to be happy. At first, i saw us getting married and raising a family, but now I know that it will be Em that will live and not Rhod. Even though I am not a lesbian, I will still love Em and I might marry her too. To me it will still be my best friend no matter the gender.
But Em still had some trouble being accepted. We were hosting students from Augusta high School in Grottoes Virginia. Rhod was hosting a boy named Dan. Rhod had to go to Wales one weekend during their stay and hadn't had time to become Rhod again.
When Dan found out that Rhod was Em, he started calling him vile names, causing Em to run crying to her room and when Sabrina stood up for Rhod, Dan called her many racist names causing everybody to blanch in fear until Sylvie stepped in. She shut him up and called in help.
Dan and Rhod were never close after that and Dan went back in disgrace for his actions and almost got expelled too. As it was, he stayed in school and on the Track and Field Team, but if he does anything else, he will be expelled.
Dan saw Em while she was in America, Em was shocked and dismayed when Dan found out that she was there. She was afraid that he would out her and cause problems, but the school kept him from doing it, although it was a very close call.
While in America, Em took Health and was dismayed when she had to talk about her periods which she can't have. Well we were able to help the poor girl out and give her the information she needed. When she found out what we girls went through each month, she was glad that she didn't go through what we do.
Sabrina and Britney are Cheerleaders and they brought their uniforms with them. They wore them the first time over here when Drew as racing. They dressed up in their uniforms and Maddy wore her badminton kit to cheer Drew on. Drew was quite pleased with his cheering section., but what happened next, he was not ready for.
Thanks to Brit and Sabrina, we now have a local Cheerleader Team: the Sherwood Foresters. Drew/Gaby is the Head Cheerleader and he was surprised when Em joined the squad. When Cherie ans Sylvie found out about the team, they both thought that it would be good for Em to join. It was then that Rhod told the gang about him wanting to be Em.
Drew was shocked and couldn't believe that his best mate was wanting to become a girl, but he has supported Em however reluctantly and has tried to be there for Em. Drew and Rhod have been friend ever since school started and he was Drew's closest mate, finding out that Rhod is now Em has really hurt Drew.
Drew looks just like his cousin Maddy and since he is always around us girls, he keeps getting mistaken for a girl. If it wasn't for Maddy and her schemes, most of his Gaby-sodes would not happen.
For Easter,, she had the idea of the gang dressing up as Manga Girls. She made sure that she and Drew were dressed in matching costumes. It was only because of Drew's sense of honor that he went ahead and did it. Poor Drew went as Chi Light and Maddy as Chi Dark.
Rhod went too but his was not as skimpy as Drew's or Maddy's, that was his first time to dress up with the gang., after that, he became Em for the Cheerleader Team.
When we went over to America, Em and Gaby went too as part of the exchange. Drew thought that he would be able to be himself while in America, but Brit and her sister never told their parents that Drew is a boy. According to them, if their parents knew, then they would have made other arrangements.
Drew went along reluctantly so that the girls would not get into trouble, but in doing so, he sacrificed any Drew time while in America. The only consolation were that he was sharing a room with his sister and Erin saw through his disguise. Erin has been a real good friend to Drew and with her, has been able to relax and be himself.
While Em was over in America, she was hosted by Sandy and they hit it off too. I was worried about Em being found out while in America, but she told me that everything turned out alright for her.
Sandy is a Trans-girl like Em, except that she actually has breasts and looks like a girl except for her boy bits. Sandy is working at Jack's Cafe as a waitress to make enough money to have her surgery.
Em has been the friend that Sandy has needed. Her family couldn't accept Sandy has a girl and it took Em to help them see the light. The funny thing is that they see Em as a total girl, they have no idea that Em is actually Rhod.
The easiest one to change was Sandy's baby brother. That tyke was wary of Em at first, but in time, he came to love "Auntie Em." Em was able to get him to start calling Sandy his big sister in total disregard for his dad's wishes.
His dad refuses to see Sandy as a girl and has bullies his wife and younger son into supporting his dogmatic view. And now because Em has started to question his authority, he can't do anything about it without revealing that Sandy is a trans-girl.
Em knows all about Sandy and they get along great. They have not told them that Em knows about Sandy, this gives Em ammunition to help Sandy get accepted by her family.
Her Mum has begun to see Sandy as her daughter now thanks to Em. She was treating Em as if she was her daughter, Em finally got her to see just how much she was hurting Sandy when she neglected to take her shopping or do any Mum-Daughter bonding things with Sandy.
Em has shown to have a lot of wisdom while in America. She has done a lot to help Sandy be accepted by her family, but Em still is ignorant about being a girl in many ways.
Em went on a date with a boy that she thought as very nice, she never thought that he would try what he did. He asked Em out to see a movie, she thought that it would be a group date and accepted. But she later learned that it would only be her and the boy.
Em went believing that his Mum was going to chaperone them, but she left them there while she attended to something else. He treated Em as if she was a tart and tried to force himself upon poor Em.
His Mum acted as if Em should have let him. She believes that Em intentionally enticed him into attacking her. I was going to go, but I had to cancel at the last minute, now I wish that I had gone so that I could have protected Em.
Em has had a few nightmare because of the incident,and has had to deal with what us girls do when a date gets fresh with us, but it is something I wish that she did not experience. At least she was not hurt.
On the return flight, Em was distraught about retuning to Warsop. She would have to become Rhod again because it was Rhod that made the trip and not Em. Poor Em was crying about it when Drew saw her crying after she was told her terrible news.
Drew was in the same situation as Rhod, both were girls while in America, but were guys when the boarded the plane. It took Drew to console Em and convince her to become Rhod for the trip back to Warsop.
Em became Rhod again and is Rhod in school in order to avoid any trouble from those that don't appreciate Em. But during the summer holidays Em will stay with her dad and she will return instead of Rhod.
I will miss him, but I will gain a new girlfriend in Em, Unfortunately, by that time, Drew and his family will have moved to Germany to be with his Mum. I know that Em will miss Drew, but he misses his Mum and will be there with her. the one here that will truly miss Drew is Maddy.
Maddy and Drew have been seeing each other for awhile and they love each other. It will be a true test of their love to see if this seperation will end their relationship or make it stronger.
Maddy has seen a few guys, but she prefers her "Drewbie." Who knows, maybe when we all graduate from school, we can have a double wedding: Drew and Maddy & Em and me. Wouldn't that be nice? But I don't know if that will ever happen, but I do have hope.
As much as I enjoyed going to America, I will have my own nightmares about the trip. On the way home to Warsop, we stopped to eat at a local mall so we could do some shopping.
It was there that I was shot by accident when an employee of a local store got mad and started shooting. I got shot in the arm. I was lucky in that the bullet went clean through and missed any arteries and bone.
It has taken awhile for me to be able to go shopping again, but thanks to my friends, I am able to and Maddy has been a big help in that. She loves to shop. There has never been a time that she has not found something to buy when she goes. Thanks to her unique therapy, I am pretty much over my nightmare.
But Em has a special diet that she must follow now that puberty has hit and it was a nightmare when it happened too. Rhod used to love to eat meat and would have his sausages and burgers like anybody else, but now he is allergic to red meat and pork.
We were at a barbeque when it happened. John Peters had invited everybody over for an end of summer holiday feast. Carol Peters is a great cook, Drew really pigs out whenever he eats over there and she loves seeing him eat too.
Well, on that day, Rhod had just eaten two plates and was coming back for more when he doubled over in pain and then spewed his dinner out all over the lawn. His Mum grabbed him and flew to the hospital to see what was wrong while the rest of us cleaned up and then went to see about Rhod.
The doctors were giving him some stuff to coat his stomach and help him empty it. After spending a week in there, Rhod was released with the news that he was now allergic to red meat and pork. He can have a bit of fish or fowl, but he prefers to go all veggie now.
He can have veggies cooked or seasoned with meat as long as he takes a special pill to coat his stomach. I know that he misses eating meat because we have all seen him looking longingly at a burger or sausage while he had to stick to soup or salads.
Me, I hope that he can get to where he can eat meat again, but I have taken up the challenge of creating an all veggie menu for him/her. I don't know if Em and I will marry or if I will find another, but Em will always be my best friend and will always have a place in my heart just as Rhod will have.
