"Well, well…Erm..." stumbled Drew, who sat there trying to tell his mum what happened at the doctors.
"Jen, I think I better tell you what was said." pipes up Dave.
After about 45 minutes Jenny Bond has all the details of what happened at the doctors, while Drew just sits next to his mum and snuggles very tight to her while Drew's mum is stroking his back.
"No wonder you freaked in there then. Drew, if that had have been me in your situation, I think I'd have done the same thing." says Jules.
"Thanks Jules, I guess I need my family around me more now than I ever thought I would." replies Drew.
"Come on it can't be that bad can it?" replies Jules.
"Well you imagine what it will be like for me when I have physical Ed and I have to take my top off in the locker room." replies Drew scornfully.
"Oh yeah I see what you mean Drew, sorry."
"I think everyone will think better after a sleep it's nearly your bed time now both you two so come on up those stairs and get into bed." mum says, so me and Jules both go upstairs Jules surprises me by giving me a hug while at the top of the stairs.
I do not know what I was dreaming about but when I sat bolt upright mum and dad was both comforting me and I was crying a little bit.
"We heard you scream. Are you ok Drew?" says dad.
"Err yeah I can't remember what I was dreaming but I got scared whatever it was." I reply.
Mum stayed with me while dad retreated back to his bedroom and she comforted me until I fell asleep again next I knew my alarm clock was going off,.
"Urghh I guess I better get up for school." I say then decide to get dressed and head downstairs, when I get there the rest of the family are already up sitting at the breakfast table.
"What are you doing up Drew?" asks dad.
"Well duh school day remember you made me start going when I was about five." I say.
"I guess I forgot to tell you last night I spoke to your head yesterday Mr Wood and he said to keep you home the rest of the week."
"What?" I reply, "You could have told me before I got out of bed and ready, hmphhhh."
"We'll have no outbursts like that in this house. DoImakemyselfclearAndrewBond?" states mum in a firm voice while looking straight at me.
"Sorry mum, sorry dad, sorry Jules." I apologised.
"Well I'm off to work I'll be home about the usual time ok." says dad while going to the kitchen and depositing his cup into the sink.
"And what time would that be dear?" asks mum.
"Sorry Jen about five pm shouldn't be any later than that but I did come home sort of early yesterday so if I have to work a little bit later I'll ring and let you know ok,."
"I'll let Maddy know you won't be at school the rest of the week Drew she won't be glad seen as though she won't be able to have it off also." Jules says with a little grin.
"I know you two are inseparable these days." she says as she giggles while going out of the door to the bus stop.
"How on earth did HE manage to con the head into letting him have the rest of the week off?" asks Maddy just after Jules told her while waiting for the bus.
"Don't ask me the head spoke to dad after he arrived at school yesterday and they spoke for a few minutes before he took Drew home so don't give me the third degree ok." says Jules in a bit of an angry way.
"So Drew what do you want to do today then?" asks mum.
"I don't know it's rare your home like this and I think I just want to stay indoors with you if that's ok?" I ask cuddling up to mum.
"Well I did notice that we do not have many groceries in the fridge, what is your dad feeding you nowadays? We really need to go shopping, you up to a little trip?" asks mum.
"I suppose so at least I'll be near you."
After the shopping trip both, Drew and his mum get home and start to unload the shopping on the kitchen table to sort it out. Mum starts to put the tinned stuff in the cupboard because its too high for me to reach while I start to put the fridge and freezer stuff away, after I'm done I turn around and mum gives off a little giggle.
"What?" I ask.
"Nothing just thinking about something." mum replies.
I wonder if that was because he was just in the freezer? I will have to keep my eye open for the next few days Jenny thinks.
"Oh by the way mum you know I've been entered in the 25 in Wales next month? Well I've asked Maddy and she said she would never manage on that death trap she rides and I was wondering if she could use your old bike, I said I'd get dad to ring and ask you but I didn't know you was coming home."
"I didn't know I was coming home either Drew until I got that phone call off your dad."
"Well can she borrow it? I know you don't let anyone ride it but she is family and you don't ride it much anymore yourself."
"Tell you what Drew give her a ring when she gets home after school tell her not to eat a lot and after she has had something to eat, ask her to come round here ok for a fitting." mum replies.
Well its four o'clock nearly and Maddy should be home from school now as I just heard Jules come in thinks Drew.
"Hello Peters residence."
"Maddy it's Drew."
"You jammy sod how did you manage to get the week off?" she huffs down the phone at me.
"Listen don't have too much to eat and when you've finished come round here mum's letting you borrow her old bike and she said she needs to adjust it for you as its set up for mum ok."
"Yipppppeeeeeee." says Mad nearly deafening me at the same time.
"So I take it you will be coming around then?"
"Try and stop me Drew I'll be there in about 15 minutes." replies Mad.
"Oh by the way bring you skins I've a feeling we may be going for a little ride after it's set up."
"K..." replies Maddy the hangs the phone up.
{Jenny and Carol are cousins.. Drew calls Carol Aunt, why not Mad and Aunt Jenny?}.
"Hi Mrs Bond thanks for lending me the bike." says Maddy with a big grin on here face.
"It's ok Maddy but the bike stays here though between races because its insured, did you bring your skins?" asks mum.
"Yeah I did."
"Well go upstairs and change then come back down here and we'll measure up then go for a little ride to see how you handle it ok."
"Ok." says Maddy then dashes upstairs right into Drew's room while he is just starting to change clothes.
"Arghhh!" I scream "God don't you ever knock?" I say while trying to get my breath back.
"Nope not when it's my boyfriend's room and I have seen it all before you know." replies Maddy.
"Right I'm dressed I'll see you in the garage when you get back down ok Mad."
"Yep be about 5 minutes, a girl has got to have some privacy you know." quips Maddy.
'I never seem to get any' thinks Drew while he heads off downstairs and goes into the garage.
"Drew can you open the garage door a bit so we can get some light in here please." asks mum.
"Yeah sure Maddy will be down in a few minutes she's just getting changed." I reply.
With that Maddy appears in the garage and proceeds over to mum looking at the bike mum is lending her and all she can do is gawp at it.
"Maddy can you just stand there for a bit legs spread slightly and arms out so I can measure up." asks mum.
Maddy starts giggling and mum then proceeds to tickle her even more.
"I can't help it if I am ticklish can I?" questions Maddy while mum is measure her for leg and arm length.
Mum finishes measure Maddy then asks me to hold the bike steady so she can help Maddy get on the bike to make sure her legs reach the pedals without over stretching, then for some reason Maddy starts giggling.
"What's wrong with you now Maddy?" I ask.
"Nothing." she replies still giggling "Err Drew can I ask a question?"
"You just did."
"No you dunce another question." says Maddy.
"That's a second question there."
Maddy just growls at me to let me know she is serious about something.
"Are you a little bit cold Drew?"
I was feeling the chill a bit with the garage door open and I do not know how Maddy noticed it but I replied.
"Yeah just a little bit, why do you ask?"
Maddy just giggled a bit more so I let it drop, women I'll never understand them with that Maddy whispers something to mum and she gives me a quick once over and starts giggling herself.
"Ok what's with the giggling? Is this about me? Is someone going to tell me?"
"Well." mum says then makes some sort of arm movement and mumbles something under her breath.
"What is it mum tell me."
"Well Erm Drew I don't know how to say this but."
"But what mum tell me what it is otherwise I don't know what you are talking about."
"Promise me you will not be embarrassed ok." says mum.
"Ok mum I promise."
"Well Drew it looks as if we need to go shopping."
"Why? We went shopping today and got enough stuff to last a month."
"Wrong type of shopping Drew its clothes shopping."
"Why? I don't need a new skin this one fits me ok, its supposed to be a bit tight fitting, you know you ride as the same as I do."
"Drew it's not the skin your wearing it's something else." replies mum.
"Like what else could I need for riding in?"
"Well Drew hear me out here you know Maddy asked if you was cold right?"
"Yes."
"Well something is showing a bit too much."
"What's showing? You can't show much in these things and it's a skin suit."
"It's nothing to do with the suit Drew it's something is showing up there." mum says while waving her hands in front of herself.
"What are you on about mum?" I ask getting a little bit angry at the same time as they seem to both be in on something and are not telling me.
"Ok Drew I'll be blunt here seen as though you haven't figured it out, YOU need a certain type of clothing if you are going to be wearing that suit in the cold, AND that clothing is a BRA."
"A what?" I reply.
"A BRA... Drew it's what we have to wear when it's cold to stop little protrusions being seen when it's cold." says Maddy while pointing directly at her chest.
I look at Maddy like she is talking gibberish and then look where she is pointing on herself then look at her eyes pointing towards my chest I look down and then realise what they both was trying to tell me.
"Arggggggghhhhhhh!!!" then I decide to make a quick getaway into the house to hide my complete humiliation I have just endured at the hands of my mum and Maddy.
Mum comes into the house with Maddy and finds Drew crying in the front room curled up like a little baby they both get either side of Drew and put their arms around him to comfort him the best they can.
"It's nothing to be ashamed of Drew." mum said.
"It is no young boy should have, have, have these." while pointing at his chest.
"From what the doctor said you were already developing and this just happens to be a side effect of the growth." mum replies.
"But, but, but." Drew practically screams.
"So are we going to go shopping then Drew it looks like you needs some items at least." Maddy pipes up.
"Yeah I suppose so but nothing too frilly." Drew replies.
"Well then Gaby you want to go and get changed." mum says.
"Gaby?" Drew asks.
"Unless you WANT to go as Drew and get spotted buying a bra from the shop." says Maddy.
"Nooooo way do I want that." replies Drew.
"Well then Gaby it is go on go and get changed it's been a while since I went shopping with a daughter." mum says.
"Oh god why do I get myself into these situations." moans Drew while going upstairs to get read.
"I'll go help." says Maddy to mum.
"No Drew you cannot wear a dress." says Maddy.
"Why not I've got plenty of them." Drew replies.
"Well duh your going bra shopping right, you don't want to wear a dress as you will have to take it off to try a bra, and do you really want to show certain things below." says Mad.
"Err I guess not so what do you reckon then jeans and a top?" asks Drew.
"Yeah that will work then you can just take the top off to try the bra on." giggles Maddy.
Drew Maddy and Jenny go out to the bus station to go catch a bus, with Drew moping all the way there, how on earth does a young boy like myself end up going bra shopping?, Drew thinks to himself while trudging along.
"Where we going mum?" asks Drew.
"Just to the local shopping centre Gaby why do you ask?" replies mum.
"Oh no I am not going anywhere local to go to go to go." says Drew.
"For a bra Gaby you need one." says Maddy.
"Can we go somewhere else then mum? Anywhere but local what if someone sees me." grumbles Drew.
"Ok we'll go into Market Warsop will that do?" asks mum.
"Yeah I suppose so." replies Drew.
They catch the bus to Market Warsop and fifteen minutes later the driver is dropping them off. they go into the local shopping centre and immediately head off to the department store, While in there quite a lot of people keep staring at them and its making Drew a bit nervous especially as he is there buying his own bra, finally a little girl walk up to them.
"Hello is it really you?" the little girl asks Drew.
"Huh what who's who?" replies Drew.
"IT is, you're Gaby Bond this is your sister Maddy and this must be Jenny Bond." says the little girl.
Oh no I didn't think we'd get recognised here but I suppose we didn't travel far enough away thinks Drew.
"Yes that's right." replies Maddy with a big grin on her face "Were here to get Gaby here her first bra and I think she's a little bit nervous."
Can I get your autographs?" the little girls asks.
With that mum sticks her hand in her handbag and pulls out a bunch of photos, meanwhile Drew I wondering why on earth she'd bring something like that here, Jenny takes a look at Drew recognises the look and says.
"You never know Hun when you'll be asked for an autograph so I brought some just in case."
They all sign them even Maddy, which she is pleased about because it has been the first time she has been recognised and asked to sign an autograph.
The little girl trundles off with a giant grin on her face after receiving the autographed photos from the Bond clan.
"Why does this happen to me?" says Drew aloud.
"Because your are famous in your own right Gaby." says mum.
After an hour they all head out to go back home with a few training and sports bras for Drew which he is still not happy about having to get. As they get home, they just get in the front door and Jules is there setting the dinner table she looks up notices mum first then Maddy then GABY?
"Where you lot been?" asks Jules.
"Shopping." replies Maddy.
"What for and why wasn't I invited." pouts Jules.
"Don't get your knickers in a twist Jules we had to do an emergency shopping trip for Drew some bra's." says mum.
"Muuuummmm." replies Drew.
"Well you needed them so we went shopping also it will cut down on the itching you said you was having.
Jules just stands there laughing while Drew is giving her the evil eye.
"Jules that will be enough of that we talked about this last night." Says mum.
"I know mum but Drew wearing a bra it is was too much for me to not laugh." says Jules.
{more forceful to state than say}.
"Well make this the only time you do then Miss." Mum states.
"Maddy would it be possible for you to come back tomorrow night to check on the bike to see if it is ok?" mum asks Maddy.
"Yeah no probs, I'll better be going home so I guess I'll see you tomorrow night then Gaby?"
"Huh." was all Drew could manage.
Dave comes through from the kitchen after hearing his wife and the kids coming through the front door. Wondering what all the noise was about after hearing the words, Drew needing a bra and Jules laughter, he takes one look at Jenny she gives him the don't ask stare back which Dave knows only too well not to pursue the questions he was going to ask.
After a meal that he has prepared they all sat down to eat, then Drew decides to have an early night leaving the rest of them downstairs. Next morning he wakes up gets out of bed and makes his way towards the bathroom, and he hears what sounds like an argument from downstairs he thinks its his mum and dad.
"We can't tell him he's bad enough as it is without this." says mum.
"We've got to tell him otherwise if he finds out from someone else it's going to be worse than hearing it from us." replies dad.
"Well let him wake up first and have something to eat before we say anything then ok Dave!"
"Ok I'll go with that."
"What's the arguing about?" ask Drew from the bottom of the stairs.
Oh, hell I did not think he was up thinks Dave to himself.
"Drew go have something to eat first then we will tell you ok." says mum.
"Ok then it shouldn't take long anyway." replies Drew.
Drew finishes having some toast and a hot cup of tea then goes into the front room where both of his parents are, sits down and is just about to ask what all the fuss is when he notices a copy of the Chad on the living room table.
"Oh no don't tell me I think I can guess." says Drew.
"You figured it out then." says dad.
"Course it's that paper sitting the on the table what's it said this time?" asks Drew.
"It's on the fifth page have a look about halfway down on the right" says mum.
'And in local news international rider Jenny Bond was seen taking her two daughters Gaby and Maddy out shopping yesterday in Market Warsop. We were lucky one of our reporters was also shopping in the same shop with her daughter; it looks like young Gaby Bond the local champion was looking at undergarments for a young female around her age with her sister giving her directions and young Gaby did not look too impressed at being in the shop herself. We have heard on the grapevine that Gaby has been asked by the UK under sixteen federation has asked young Bond to ride in a 25 mile ride in Wales next month. We all wish her and her sister well as we also heard she might be also entering the competition. Maybe we will have two young upcoming superstars if Maddy turns out to be as good as her sister Gaby.
